Berger Picard Club of America

The Berger Picard Club of America was founded to protect and promote the breed in the United States. We begin by health testing the sires and dams of every litter bred and making those results public on the OFA website. We also encourage new owners to health test their companion Picards. We want healthy dogs so the club takes this very seriously.  We make every attempt to breed to the AKC standard that is based on the FCI standard from the country of origin, France. OFA Website

We have chosen to promote our breed through the American Kennel Club. We initially began as an AKC licensed club and are now proud to be a member club of the American Kennel Club as of the Delegate meeting on September 12, 2016. The first AKC delegate for the BPCA was seated in March of 2017.  AKC Berger Picard Website

The BPCA constitution and bylaws were voted on by the membership and adopted on April 2017.  BPCA Constitution & By Laws

The BPCA policy manual has been established at its Board meetings or at General Membership meetings in order to clarify and augment the By-Laws. A date in parentheses (if one appears) after an item represents the Board Meeting or Annual General Meeting at which the policies were voted into effect. This is intended to be a living document with updates as new policies are established. New policies will be published in the minutes of Board Meetings and AGMs, and updates to this document may be published as needed. BPCA Policies

The club further protects our breed by asking our members to abide by the standards of ethical conducts as outlined below.  Provide links to the standards of conduct for members, breeders and board members.
